There’s a different breed of Mary Janes out there, and it comes with crisscross ankle straps. The design isn’t new but it’s currently hot, and I’m featuring it today because it hasn’t been featured here in Love Mary Janes yet.

The most recent sighting of this unique baby was on Kristen Stewart’s feet during the 2010 MTV Movie Awards.

The shoes look exactly like peep toe Mary Jane pumps, except that there are two straps instead of the usual one, and the straps are crossed to form an X.

I found similar styles from Zappos.com in case you want one. Some are actually more like sandals rather than pumps. The closest one are the pairs from BCBGeneration and Jessica Simpson:

I think Jessica Biel looks hotter now than she ever was before. Maybe it’s J.T. doing his magic…Or maybe it’s just her.

Anyway, Jess attended the 2010 MTV Movie Awards last June 6 in a two tone feathery frock that looked like a two piece ensemble and her curves worked the dress really well.

She finished off the look perfectly with a pair of classic satin Mary Jane D’Orsays that were studded on the  heels and ankle straps. Here’s a closer look at the shoes:

Well, I like both. If I could put the words beautiful, dainty, sweet, and sexy into one package, it would be this Jessica Biel shot.

And the shoes? Well, it’s definitely a classic with a twist. The studs give it an edgy and glamorous appeal.

Jessica is wearing Giambattista Valli by the way. As for the shoes, I don’t know who made it yet. What I do know is that head to toe the whole outfit is probably pricey. If you have any intention of copying it, allow me to help you with these less expensive alternatives:

I rarely see Vanessa Hudgens in Mary Janes so when I saw her don a pair at the Get Him to the Greek premiere, I simply had to write about it.

The High School Musical starlet paired her black platform peep toe MJs with a mini dress that showed off her toned gams. She finished her look with a plush bomber jacket for added coolness.

I like it. It’s an interesting pair. Not show-stopping, but definitely interesting. I like the unique curved detailing on the front; it gives the shoe a fresh twist. I also like how the platform is thick but not too thick – simply just right.
